Days before her Savage X Fenty Vol. 3 event, Rihanna gave an update on her highly anticipated forthcoming album.

“You’re not going to expect what you hear. Just put that in your mind,” the singer told the Associated Press. “Whatever you know of Rihanna is not gonna be what you hear. I’m really experimenting, and music is, like, it’s like fashion. You should be able to play. I should be able to wear whatever I want, and I treat music the same way.”

It’s been more than five years since Anti was released, and there is still no timetable for the release of her upcoming project. She’s given just a few updates while she takes her time on the creative process. Last year, RiRi revealed she’s held “tons of writing camps” and started recording new songs.

Her Savage X Fenty Vol. 3 show will air this Friday on Amazon Prime Video. The event features performances by Nas, Daddy Yankee, Normani, Ricki Martin, and Jasmine Sullivan. Gigi Hadid, Vanessa Hudgens, Adriana Lima, Erykah Badu, Alex Wek, and Jeremy Pope will make special appearances.

She is most looking forward to debuting some of her favorite pieces, including bras, catsuits, and crotchless designs.

“I’m just looking forward to actually seeing my pieces on the talent, seeing it on so many different body shapes and silhouettes, because that’s what brings the pieces to life,” she told the AP.
