During the September 20 episode of “Speak On It” with her mother, Kandi Burruss, Riley openly confirmed that she had work done after being asked which public assumptions about her were actually true. Her response was simple: “You know, my nose.”

Riley Burruss said the procedure happened years ago and admitted that her perspective has changed somewhat with age. Riley explained, “People always bring up my nose. That was, like, five years ago.” She also acknowledged that she understands why some people believe she could have waited longer before making a permanent decision about her face. “Yes, I get it. Sometimes you have to grow into your features. Probably shouldn’t have gotten it done that young.”The confirmation closes a loop that dates back to 2020, when Riley was preparing to leave Atlanta for college. Social media users were questioning whether Riley had undergone a nose procedure after she appeared in a TikTok video with Kandi. Other reports from that period noted that neither Riley nor her mother had publicly confirmed the speculation.
But Riley is pushing back against one part of that narrative. During “Speak On It,” she said the decision was not sparked by strangers criticizing her nose. According to the interview, Riley said she had not personally heard negative comments about her nose before having the procedure. Instead, she said she felt her nose was too large for her face and had grown tired of relying heavily on makeup contouring. She also emphasized that she believed she was beautiful before making the change.
Kandi Burruss also addressed the continued attention surrounding her daughter’s appearance. While discussing how often the procedure still comes up, Kandi told Riley, “It’s a million people that have done they nose, and it just seems like they keep bringing yours up.”
According to Kandi, the family was actually willing to discuss the Riley Burruss nose job publicly much earlier. During the “Speak On It” conversation, Kandi said she and Riley talked about it while filming “The Real Housewives of Atlanta.” Kandi explained that producers ultimately decided against including the discussion because Riley was still her child and they did not want to expose her to additional negative commentary.
“In that situation, they chose not to show that we discussed it,” Kandi recalled.
That context is especially notable because Riley spent much of her childhood in front of Bravo cameras before eventually becoming a reality star in her own right. Riley graduated from New York University in May 2024 with a Bachelor of Science in music business. Kandi explained that once Riley decided she wanted the procedure, her focus as a mother was on helping her navigate that choice responsibly.
