The hashtag #ripcartoonnetwork has been trending on X after the handle ‘Animation Workers Ignited‘ posted a bombshell video.
With the caption “Cartoon Network is dead?!?!” the clip quickly went viral, sparking fears and rumors that Cartoon Network is closing its doors for good.
Despite the panic, there’s no evidence that the network is actually shutting down and the associated hashtag originated from Animation Workers Ignited post. The video that sparked the trending topic actually painted an unfortunate picture for the entire animation industry, not just Cartoon Network.
Additionally, the video added that other studios aren’t far behind from the wave of layoffs that’s hitting animators hard.
So far, animation workers have already been out of work for over a year, and it predicts record-breaking unemployment in the future.
While the animation industry is definitely facing challenges, our favorite network isn’t going anywhere just yet.
