Graham, the former assistant to The Irishman star Robert De Niro, is suing the actor for gender discrimination and unpaid wages, while De Niro’s side tells a very different story.
According to legal documents obtained by TMZ, De Niro, then 76, claims Graham sent him an email in 2019 threatening to disclose personal information about him if he did not meet a list of demands. In a separate email, he claims she threatened to write a tell all about him. The documents do not make clear what she planned to reveal. Graham has not been shown to have made any such disclosure.
De Niro’s company, Canal Productions, sued Graham for about $6 million, alleging she misused a company credit card and her work time. Graham then countersued, claiming she was overworked and underpaid during her time at the company. She also claimed she faced inappropriate comments on a regular basis. De Niro’s side disputes her claims.
Graham started at the company as an executive assistant in 2008 and eventually rose to vice president of production and finance. According to Fox News, she claims she was asked to do demeaning personal tasks for De Niro, such as tying his shoes and cleaning his apartment.
To support her case, Graham released a voicemail in which De Niro can be heard criticizing her after she missed his call. De Niro acknowledged it was his voice and described the message as an isolated moment of frustration.
The case was in its early stages at the time of this report and none of the claims on either side had been decided.
