Rod Wave is off the hook after being charged with choking his ex-girlfriend and mother of his children.

On Thursday, Rod Wave’s attorney, Bradford Cohen, shared the news on Instagram, writing “DISMISSED.”

“We are thrilled that this misunderstanding is behind him, and he can move forward with a successful career,” Cohen added. Prosecutors reviewed the incident and determined not to move forward with charges.

The “Already Won” star was arrested in May during a traffic stop in Pinellas County, FL. Police discovered that he had an outstanding warrant in Osceola County, FL for battery by strangulation. His children’s mother claimed that the singer came to her home and confronted her about allegedly speaking to other men. She says the 22-year-old choked her during the ordeal as she lay in bed while their kids were in a separate room. He then left but returned shortly after, accusing her of stealing his phone. The woman phoned 911 twice, but when authorities arrived, Wave was gone. They observed a mark on her neck, but she refused medical treatment.

On the same day that the charges were dropped, Wave announced his “For the Fans Tour,” which will kick off in Lexington, Kentucky, on June 10th.

His ex-girlfriend has not publicly spoken out about the incident.
