NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell isn’t losing sleep over critics questioning the league’s decision to name Bad Bunny the Super Bowl LX halftime headliner.
“He’s one of the leading and most popular entertainers in the world,” Goodell said Tuesday. “That’s what we try to achieve… It’s carefully thought through. I don’t think we’ve ever selected an artist without some blowback or criticism.”
That backlash came quickly, especially from conservative commentators online who branded the Puerto Rican superstar “anti-American.” Donald Trump didn’t hold back either. Speaking to Newsmax, he said, “I don’t know who he is. I don’t know why they’re doing it… I think it’s absolutely ridiculous.”
Bad Bunny, 31, is a global music force with three Grammys, multiple hits, and viral crossover moments in WWE and film, including “Happy Gilmore 2.”
Super Bowl LX is set for February 8th, 2026, at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California.
