Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, who has long opposed implementing a mask mandate, is promoting a COVID-19 treatment.

It doesn’t seem like DeSantis is too sure about where he stands when getting vaccinated to protect yourself against possibly catching the coronavirus. According to U.S. News, the 42-year-old has been visiting different parts of Florida to promote a monoclonal antibody treatment sold by Regeneron, which Donald Trump used when he caught Rona.

And reports show DeSantis’ actions could be due to his business relationship with Citadel CEO Ken Griffin. Citadel is a Chicago-based hedge, which has $15.9 million in shares of Regeneron Pharmaceutical Inc., according to stats from the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. Last April, Griffin donated $10.75 million to a political committee that is in support of DeSantis.

De Santis is calling for Florida residents to educate themselves on monoclonal antibody treatments back this month.

“Early treatment with these monoclonal antibodies – Regeneron and others – have proven to radically reduce the chances that somebody ends up being hospitalized,” DeSantis said Monday at a treatment site in Orlando. “Reducing hospital admissions has got to be a top priority.”
