Rosanne Boyland, one of the five people killed in the riots at the U.S. Capitol, was an avid pro-Trump supporter who was trampled to death by the angry mob.
According to the NY Post, Boyland drove from Kennesaw, GA, and died in the melee as the pro-Trump mob stormed the building and clashed with law enforcement.
Her friend, Justin Winchell, recalled the chaotic scene of her final moments as protesters began falling on top of one another.
“I put my arm underneath her and was pulling her out, and then another guy fell on top of her, and another guy was just walking [on top of her],” Winchell explained to news outlet CBS 46. “There were people stacked two, three deep … people just crushed,” he said.
Winchell said the clash between rioters and cops “basically created a panic, and the police in turn push[ed] back on them, so people started falling.”
Paramedics tried to revive the 34-year-old woman on the scene, but she passed away.
While Winchell said he didn’t believe Donald Trump bore responsibility for Boyland’s death, her brother in law Justin Cave denounced Trump for urging his supporters to rally in the nation’s capital.
“I’ve never tried to be a political person, but it’s my own personal belief that the president’s words incited a riot that killed four of his biggest fans last night, and I believe that we should invoke the 25th Amendment at this time,” Cave said in a prepared statement.
