Roseanne Barr’s daughter Jenny Pentland details her childhood and says her mom forced her to live in the woods because of her weight.

According to Jenny’s book, “This Will Be Funny Later: A Memoir,” she claims that her mom, Roseanne, involuntarily sent her to a wilderness survival camp. Jenny said when she was 15, she got a surprised visit from two men who handcuffed her and took her away to Utah. Pentland continues detailing that she was forced to survive on raisins, nuts, and cornmeal for two months. During her stay, Jenny did not contact her family and had to battle the elements while living outdoors.

In another portion of the book, Pentland claims that when she reached 250 pounds, Roseanne would pour Coca-Cola on her food. Her mom did this with hopes of Jenny not wanting to eat anymore.

Jenny continued about the trauma she suffered as a child. She recalls when she was expecting to meet her father at an airport. Instead, Jenny was greeted by one of Roseanne’s bodyguards and shipped off to another mental health facility.

Now, Pentland was a frequent patient at these facilities throughout her childhood. Jenny’s first time being admitted into a mental health hospital was at 13. She explains how her mom silently drove her to a therapist appointment and left her there for eight months.

Nevertheless, Jenny’s relationship with her mom is relatively standard, and she doesn’t hold any grudges towards Roseanne. Pentland even became a writer for Roseanne’s ABC sitcom that was eventually canceled her racist tweets went viral. However, the show later returned but without her.
