Rush Limbaugh Says If Kanye West Sung SAE’s Racist Song It’d Be a Hit

In other ‘Who Asked You’ news, Rush Limbaugh believes that rapper Kanye West could have gotten away with singing a song about lynching black people so they won’t join a fraternity.

While a number of media pundits Wednesday looked to blame rap music for the racist chant sung in by University of Oklahoma’s SAE fraternity, Rush Limbaugh‘s put his own unique spin the argument. He’s suggested that Kanye West would have a hit if he were to use the same lyrics, which included racial slurs and referenced lynching.

“If this had been a song by Kim Kardashian‘s husband and they had sung this song at the Grammys … it’d be a hit,” he said on The Rush Limbaugh Show Wednesday.

He added, when one of his staff members seemed to disagree, “But I’m telling you this stuff gets awards, and the people who sing it are portrayed as American royalty in terms of celebrity. You can’t deny that.”

Earlier in the day, MSNBC’s daily news show Morning Joe‘s hosts suggested the offending fraternity members probably learned this language from rap music. This assertion came following word Waka Flocka Flame had canceled a performance scheduled for next month at the university in response to the racist video.

“If you look at every single song, I guess you call these, that he’s written, it’s a bunch of garbage,” said Morning Joe co-host Mika Brzezinski. “[His lyrics are] full of n-words, it’s full of f-words. It’s wrong. And he shouldn’t be disgusted with them; he should be disgusted with himself.”
