Ryan Garcia is seemingly hanging up his gloves for good, according to a lengthy Twitter rant.
The controversial boxer shared several posts about his personal and professional life. In one tweet, he pointed out that he and his estranged wife, Celina, are still going through their divorce, and his mother, Lisa, is sick with cancer. However, in the same tweet, Garcia seemed bothered that fellow fighter Devin Haney requested his April 2024 victory be thrown out due to him allegedly taking PEDs ahead of the fight.
“I’m getting hit with everything,” Garcia wrote, indicating that he may have been overwhelmed.
In another follow-up tweet, Garcia indicated that the sport may be better off without him. Another post read, “I MAY RETIRE IM DONE WITH THIS GAME.”

Garcia then noted that he may try other career endeavors, such as acting or singing. However, he confessed that he wasn’t pleased about leaving the sport behind, writing, “The sad part is I’m a great boxer.”
Finally, the 25-year-old made his decision, tweeting, “I’m officially retired.”
His admission comes just days after he was arrested in Beverly Hills for vandalism on June 9th. Police picked him up for allegedly damaging property inside his hotel room and hallway at the Waldorf Astoria. Several media outlets reported that he caused nearly $15,000 in damages. Days earlier, police were called to the hotel to perform a welfare check on Garcia.
It’s unclear if he is genuinely retiring, though he is clearly struggling.
