Another one of Diddy’s former artists is suing him. This time, Sara Rivers from “Da Band” is airing out her grievances legally.
Rivers, known for her role in the 2000s reality show, “Making Da Band,” filed a lawsuit accusing Diddy of failing to honor a contract and withholding payment for her work. According to Rivers, she was promised compensation for her contributions to the group’s music and appearances, but Diddy allegedly failed to fulfill his financial obligations.
In the lawsuit, Rivers details the emotional and financial toll that Diddy’s actions had on her career. She describes feeling exploited and neglected, as her attempts to resolve the matter were ignored. In the past, other musicians have come forward with similar accusations, with tales of unpaid royalties and broken promises. Producer Lil Rod sued the embattled mogul in 2024, citing sexual misconduct and failure to pay him for his work on “The Love Album: Off the Grid.”
Rivers is also accusing her former boss of sexually harassing and assaulting her. She says that Diddy once backed her into a corner while running his hand across her breasts, despite her resistance. The suit also names MTV, Viacom, and several former Bad Boy employees, including Diddy’s mother, Janice, and his ex-assistant Fonzworth Bentley.
Diddy’s lawyers slammed her allegations, suggesting they were a money grab.
“We live in a world where anyone can file a lawsuit for any reason. With the deadline for New York’s Gender-Motivated Violence Act expiring tomorrow, it’s clear that opportunists are rushing to file last-minute, meritless claims. Mr. Combs remains confident he will prevail in court,” they wrote in a statement.
Dawn Richard also sued Diddy last year for mistreatment during her time on and off the series. After being voted into Danity Kane, Richard claims she was subjected to sexual advances and bullying even in the years after the group disbanded.
