Two years after the tragic deaths of Kobe and Gigi Bryant, a statue has been placed at the crash site in their honor.
California artist, Dan Medina, told TMZ that the 160-pound statue was delivered to the Calabasas crash scene by a wagon on Wednesday.
According to Medina, the piece is temporary, but she’ll remove it at sunset. She also said she wants the city to be able to permanently install a larger, more life-size version of the site.
The statue shows Kobe Bryant in a Lakers Uniform with his arms folded around Gigi in a basketball uniform holding a basketball. In the base of the statute, Medina added the names of all nine victims who tragically died in the helicopter crash on the Hillside of Calabasas.
Gigi Bryant was thirteen at the time of her death, while her dad and NBA legend, Kobe Bryant, was 41 years young.
Kobe left behind his wife, Vanessa, whom he married in 2001. The couple had four daughters Gianna, Natalia, Bianka, and Capri.

The Los Angeles Lakers paid tribute to Kobe and Gianna with a picture of the NBA star kissing his daughter, Gigi, on the forehead on the courtside of a basketball game. “Family is forever,” the post read.

Kobe retired in 2016 but was an active sportsman and even received an Oscar for the short animated film, Dear Basketball.
On January 26, the NBA legend Gigi and six others were on a private aircraft to the second day of Gigi’s basketball tournament when the plane crashed.
Gigi and Kobe shared a special bond over their love for Basketball. Kobe bragged about being a girl dad and once said, “I would have five more girls if I could. I’m a girl, dad.”
The father/daughter duo’s legacy will live one forever, and people will always remember the two for their beautiful bond and love of basketball.
