An arrest over the weekend has pushed the investigation into the violent Florida home invasion involving Tekashi 6ix9ine further forward.
Police have taken 18-year-old Sergio Andrade into custody in connection with the November break-in at the rapper’s home. Court records obtained by CBS12 show Andrade was arrested Sunday and charged with home invasion robbery with a firearm, false imprisonment, and grand theft. He was booked into Palm Beach County Jail the same day.
Andrade is the second suspect arrested in the case. Back in December, authorities arrested Pedro Rodriguez, who is facing similar charges tied to the home invasion, along with possession of marijuana with intent to sell. Investigators reportedly relied on cell phone data to track the suspects’ movements before and after the crime.
Security footage from the incident shows three masked men entering the home, restraining 6ix9ine’s mother, and holding her at gunpoint while demanding cash and car keys. The rapper was not home during the invasion, despite being on house arrest. At the time, he had received permission to travel to Miami to livestream with Jack Doherty. Afterward, 6ix9ine suggested the timing of the break-in was deliberate.
As the legal process continues for the suspects, 6ix9ine is currently serving a three-month federal prison sentence for violating the terms of his supervised release following a Florida mall altercation in August.
