A new report offers a different account of the night behind the police investigation involving Eagles wide receiver Nelson Agholor, though the investigation is still open and no one has been charged.
NJ.com, citing an unnamed source, reported that Agholor and a dancer at Cheerleaders Gentlemen’s Club in South Philadelphia agreed to a private room visit on Thursday afternoon, that she left early, and that the two disagreed about payment. The report said the allegation came after that disagreement. The woman has not made a public statement, and the report did not include her side.
A source with ties to Agholor told the Philadelphia Inquirer’s Les Bowen it was “a setup,” and other dancers reportedly told club management that Agholor did nothing wrong. These are anonymous claims, and none of them have been confirmed by police.
Agholor’s attorney, Fred Perri Jr., has rejected the accusation. “Nelson has not engaged in any criminal conduct,” he told Philadelphia magazine, adding that he is confident Agholor will not be charged. The Eagles have declined to comment beyond acknowledging the investigation.
Police say the Special Victims Unit is still looking into the dancer’s allegation. A dispute over payment does not settle what happened, and we will update as reliable reporting comes in.
