Sexyy Red is making it clear that she has no interest in endorsing any presidential candidate, despite recent MAGA speculation.

The rapper took to Twitter on Monday with a message that read, “It’s Sexyy Red 4 President. I’m my own candidate. I’m not endorsing anybody, period.”

Make America Sexyy Again 🇺🇸

Her announcement comes after her Roots Picnic set over the weekend, which featured a giant red hat that read, “Make American Sexyy Again.” The hat used the same font and design as the infamous “Make America Great Again” hats popularized by Donald Trump. The caps have become synonymous with anti-Blackness and racism. With Sexyy’s past support of Trump, many believed this was a way to announce her endorsement of the embattled candidate.

During an October 2023 interview with the “This Past Weekend” podcast with Theo Von, she expressed that she and people from her neighborhood loved the real estate businessman.

“I like Trump. Yeah, they support him in the hood.  At first, I don’t think people was f**king with him.  They thought he was racist, saying little s**t against women,” adding, “But once he started getting Black people out of jail and giving people that free money, aww baby, we love Trump. We need him back in office. We need him back because, baby, them checks.  Them stimulus checks. Trump, we miss you.”

Her comments set off a chain of reactions, many people expressing outrage. Her Roots Picnic concert only sparked more conversations online about her political interests.

this young lady went on Theo Von’s podcast & said out of her own mouth she supports Trump & apparently “the hood loves him”.

I know yal feel some type of way about sexyy red supporting Trump but please don’t forget when his evil ass wasn’t a President so many of your favorite rappers adored him and spoke very highly of him. I don’t agree with her political views but yall not finna cancel her over this.
