Shamar McCoy was arrested Monday in Atlanta on a misdemeanor battery charge, according to TMZ, which cited court documents and online booking records.
He was released hours later after posting $2,000 bond. The charge stems from an alleged incident in November 2024, which puts roughly twenty months between the night in question and the arrest.
According to the documents TMZ reviewed, McCoy and his boyfriend, Alexander Green, went to a man’s home after Green got into an argument with him over the phone. The man later told police the two arrived with a group of friends.
The account in the report goes on from there. The man told officers that Green punched him in the face multiple times with a closed fist, threw him to the ground, and kicked him, and that the kicking continued after he was already down. A separate witness told police that McCoy kicked the man in the head. The group then left the scene in a burgundy Jaguar SUV.
The complainant also told police the incident was recorded and uploaded to Instagram, and he showed officers that video. What is described above comes from statements collected in a police report, and none of it has been tested in court or independently verified.
A few things the report does not answer. McCoy has not entered a plea and has not been convicted of anything.
