Shannon Sharpe’s $50M Lawsuit Stalls After Accuser’s No-Show at Court Hearing

Shannon Sharpe’s alleged accuser has announced her retirement from OnlyFans, just days after reaching a confidential settlement in her high-profile sexual assault lawsuit against the former NFL star.

The woman, who initially filed the $50 million lawsuit under the pseudonym Jane Doe, was later identified online as Gabriella Zuniga. Her attorney, Tony Buzbee, stated that she had a romantic relationship with Sharpe, claiming he was controlling and abusive. According to Buzbee, Sharpe “demanded complete control of [her] time and body.” Sharpe denied all allegations, describing the case as a “shakedown” attempt and vowed to sue Buzbee for defamation.

In July 2025, Buzbee announced that both parties had reached a resolution. The case was dismissed with prejudice, and he described their discussions as “respectful negotiations” that led to a “mutually agreed upon resolution.” Although the settlement terms remain private, speculation exploded after Zuniga’s abrupt career move.

“Today, I have decided to retire from [OnlyFans],” she wrote online. “Thank you for the incredible support you’ve shown me over the past few years. This community has given me a life I could have never imagined.”

Social media quickly lit up, with many interpreting her retirement as a sign of a significant payout. Meanwhile, Sharpe has stepped away from ESPN and postponed the “Nightcap” podcast tour he co-hosts with Chad Johnson. He maintains the relationship was “100% consensual” and thanked fans for their support during the controversy. His future as a sports media figure now remains in question.
