Tubi series “Street Legal” received a cease-and-desist letter claiming that the unauthorized likeness of Shanquella Robinson was used.

The Robinson family is experiencing renewed pain after discovering that a Tubi series used their real-life tragedy for a recent episode. Consequently, a cease-and-desist letter was issued to the show, claiming that they used Robinson’s likeness without consent.

In the second episode of Season 2 titled “Frenemies,” the synopsis reads: “Within 24 hours, a group of friends traveling to Cabo, Mexico, for a birthday celebration turns into a crime scene. And everyone has a different story. Are they friends or enemies?”

“We must express our profound dismay at the distressing misrepresentation and unauthorized use of Shanquella’s identity. And the events surrounding her tragic passing,” the letter says. “This unauthorized use has caused significant emotional distress and harm to the Robinson family. As it has dredged up painful memories and portrayed our loved one in a manner that is inaccurate, disrespectful, and damaging to her reputation.”

As previously reported, the 25-year-old passed away within a day of her arrival in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico last year. Allegedly, Robinson had gone on the trip to celebrate her birthday with a group of friends. Shortly after her untimely death, a disturbing video emerged online. The footage showed Robinson in a vulnerable state, disrobed, and appearing disoriented.
