Nike’s worn by the late Kobe Bryant during a 2004 game are estimated to sell for nearly $38,000.

The blue, white, and gold Nike Air Zoom Huarache 2K4 are one of the standout items at the November 11th Sotheby’s auction as part of their luxury week sales. The five-time NBA champion wore the sneakers during a winning game on March 17th, 2004, against the Los Angeles Clippers.

Other Kobe items include a replica pair of Air Jordan 3 and Air Jordan 8 sneakers gifted to him by the Jordan Brand after his contract ended with Adidas in the early 2000s.

Sotheby’s is no stranger to auctioning exclusive sneakers. Just last month, on October 24th, 2021, they raked in $1.472 million at their live auction in Las Vegas for a pair of Nike Air Ships worn by Michael Jordan during the fifth game of his rookie season in 1984.

The expected payday comes as the Kobe Bryant estate continues to battle with Los Angeles County over photos taken and shared of the basketball icon and his daughter’s deceased bodies following the devastating helicopter crash that claimed their lives, as well as several others on board. Vanessa Bryant is still pursuing the lawsuit, as the county recently agreed to pay $2.5 million to families of the other passengers killed on that fateful January 26th, 2020 day.
