Simone Biles revealed that she is “leaving the door open” for an Olympic return in 2024 after withdrawing from the team final for mental health concerns last week.

The four-time Olympic champion returned on Tuesday with a performance on the balance beam that won a bronze medal.

In an interview with NBC’s Today show this morning, Biles revealed that she is considering returning to the Paris Olympics in 2024.

“I think I have to relish and take this Olympics in, and kind of recognize what I’ve done with my career because, after 2016, I didn’t get to do that,” she said.

Biles also admitted that the pressure of the expectations placed on her as the greatest gymnast of all time, coming into the games at Tokyo took a toll on her, describing as “like the weight of the world on your shoulders” and a burden a “little bit too heavy to carry.”

Biles told Hoda Kotb she needed time to reflect on the entire experience in Tokyo.

“It ended on a high, so I’m very grateful, thankful for that. But I still feel like we go back home, and there’s still a lot of things I need to work on internally and mentally to kind of feel like I had success here,” she said.
