From Lying to No Friend Group: These Dating “Icks” Are Instant Deal Breakers [Video]

In today’s dating world, red and green flags are what make or break connections. While not everyone will have the same icks, these can certainly determine whether things progress in a romantic direction. During BLK’s inaugural BLKHouse on Miami’s South Beach, daters made it known which deal breakers would make them run in the opposite direction.

When attendees were asked, lying was among the biggest turn-offs. A lack of vulnerability also seemed to be a common ick among those at the BLKHouse. The dating app’s Sr. Brand Strategist Amber Cooper also chimed in with a unique ick that not many people would consider: the lack of personal bonds.

“You don’t have friends. I’ve learned that’s really strange when they’re like ‘Oh, my circle’s super small,’ but you have one or two friends. That says more about you than you think,” Cooper explained. “If you have one or two friends and no one else to call, to me that’s a red flag on how you treat people.”

Whether you’re a fan of dating apps or enjoy meeting people in person, it’s easy for things to go south quickly if those undeniable red flags begin rearing their ugly heads.
