Skip Bayless Rejoins Stephen A. Smith on “First Take”—But It’s Being Called a One-Time Only Event

For years, sports fans have wondered if we’d ever see the two guys who pioneered high-stakes sports debate back at the same desk. From 2011 to 2016, Skip Bayless and Stephen A. Smith were the undisputed kings of morning TV, turning “First Take” into the show everyone talked about. Then 2016 happened, Skip headed over to FS1 to start Undisputed with Shannon Sharpe, and the duo was done.

Stephen A. has kept the show running since then, but the vibe shifted. He went through the Max Kellerman era and eventually moved to a rotating door of guests, but he never really found a permanent partner who pushed him quite like Skip did.

With Skip recently leaving FS1, the rumor mill has been spinning out of control. Now, Front Office Sports is reporting that the reunion is officially a go.

The two are getting back together this Friday, but it’s being called a “one-time show.” It’s basically a throwback for the fans who miss the old days of their legendary back-and-forth arguments.

Skip Bayless and Stephen A. Smith were a dynamic duo on First Take back in the day. Over the course of five years, these two built the show into what it is today.” This Friday is likely the final chapter of that story, as the report warns, “Don’t expect this to happen ever again.”

If you grew up watching these two go at it over LeBron James or the Cowboys, you’ll want to tune in. Once the credits roll on Friday, the book on Skip and Stephen A. is likely closed for good.
