Banana bread is leaving the loaf pan and heading straight for the candy aisle. Snickers has officially rolled out one of its most unexpected flavor experiments yet, turning the familiar homemade dessert into a chocolate bar that shoppers can only find at Walgreens.

Snickers Banana Nut Bread launched September 18 as a limited release exclusive to Walgreens. The bar keeps the peanuts, caramel, and milk chocolate that define a traditional Snickers, but the regular nougat gets a banana-flavored makeover designed to bring the banana bread inspiration into every bite.
The rollout is already giving candy hunters a reason to check more than one store. Walgreens currently lists Snickers Banana Nut Bread as a new 1.42-ounce product, while availability varies depending on location and fulfillment method. That limited access is part of what makes the launch feel less like a routine candy release and more like another collectible Snickers moment.
The flavor is also landing at the right time for people who never stopped loving banana-based desserts. Delish documented enthusiastic social media reactions before the official launch, including fans already brainstorming ways to chop the candy into actual banana bread instead of simply eating the bar on its own. It is the type of reaction Snickers has seen before when the brand takes a familiar dessert flavor and puts a limited availability label around it.
Snickers Banana Nut Bread joins a recent history of exclusives built around that exact formula.
In October 2021, Snickers turned another bakery favorite into candy with Cinnamon Bun. According to Mars Wrigley’s announcement through PR Newswire, the limited flavor was sold exclusively at Walmart and featured cinnamon bun-flavored nougat with peanuts, caramel, and milk chocolate. The combination generated enough curiosity to spread well beyond the candy aisle, with food publications and snack reviewers debating whether the cinnamon twist lived up to its bakery-inspired name.
Mars went back to the Walmart exclusive strategy in 2023 with Snickers Butterscotch Scoop. That version replaced the standard nougat flavor with butterscotch while keeping the peanuts, caramel, and milk chocolate intact. The candy quickly became a social media conversation, with TikTok taste tests and posts praising how strongly the butterscotch came through.
Even before those Walmart drops, Snickers had already seen what scarcity could do for a new flavor. In 2020, Mars offered fans early access to Snickers Peanut Brownie before its nationwide debut. More than 40,000 people signed up for the chance to buy the first batch, and all 1,000 available boxes were claimed within three minutes.
The blueprint goes back even further. In 2019, Snickers released a pecan version in an extremely limited online drop. Fast Company reported that Snickers Pecan sold out within hours, while Money reported that only 3,000 boxes had been available and individual bars later appeared on resale sites for dramatically higher prices.
That history helps explain why Snickers Banana Nut Bread feels built for more than a quick sugar fix. Exclusivity turns a new flavor into something people have to find before it disappears, while an unusual dessert-inspired concept gives social media something new to taste, review, and argue about.
This time, Walgreens gets the traffic. Snickers gets another flavor experiment with instant conversation attached to it. And banana bread, a dessert that has already survived countless internet food trends, now has one more form for fans to chase before the limited release disappears.
