After years of missed timing, Snoop Dogg is once again eyeing a link-up with Simon Cowell that could reshape the talent show space. The idea is not new, but the conditions around it are starting to look different.
Snoop has openly revisited the possibility of building a show with Cowell, noting that earlier efforts stalled due to scheduling conflicts. Now, both men are operating in fresh phases of their careers, and the window that once stayed shut may finally be cracking open.
Cowell, best known for creating global hits like “The X Factor,” helped define what modern competition shows look like. Even though the series wrapped in 2021, its blueprint still shapes today’s reality TV landscape. Snoop has long respected that ability to spot stars, and he believes there is still room to evolve the format.
At the same time, Snoop is not interested in playing the traditional judge role. He previously passed on joining the U.S. version of “The X Factor,” choosing mentorship over critique. That distinction matters, especially if a new concept comes together. His approach leans toward development, not dismissal.
The timing also lines up with his growing presence overseas. As a minority stakeholder in Swansea City AFC, Snoop has been spending more time in the United Kingdom, building relationships across entertainment and business. That proximity makes an in-person collaboration with Cowell far more realistic than before.
No official format has been announced, but Snoop has hinted that he already has ideas tailored for today’s fragmented audience. He has also pointed to the power of shared viewing moments, something streaming has struggled to replicate.
For now, it is still a conversation. But if it moves forward, it would bring together two figures who have built careers on reinvention, and that alone makes the possibility hard to ignore.
