The “Real Housewives of Atlanta” star was incredibly transparent about her past and how her current success impacts her views on partnership.
When asked about the role of a husband in today’s world, Phaedra was quick to shut down the idea of remarrying.
“I don’t really have a desire to be married. You know, I did it once and that was enough,” she confessed. She explained that for a woman at her level, finding someone who is “equally yoked” and not intimidated is a steep climb.
“I believe it is because the pool is just small and I don’t think men really like smart women. Women are already more thought out than men anyway.”
Phaedra broke down the psychology of why high-achieving women often clash with men who want to lead.
“I’m a biblical girl. The man is supposed to be the head of the household,” she stated. “So if you are the head she should submit to you, okay? And so if you’re in a relationship with a woman that won’t submit that’s not your wife.”
She concluded by suggesting that the modern “hustle” expected of women might be a departure from how things were intended.
“I love a man that can lead. I don’t know any woman that is confident in herself that would not let a smart man who is a leader, not lead her. I don’t think women want to be out here working hard and being the head of the household,” Phaedra remarked. “That’s not how it was set up. We’re not even supposed to work.”
