Snoop Dogg just pulled off another plot twist in his already legendary career, stepping into a role nobody saw coming but everybody can feel: Team USA’s first-ever Honorary Coach.
The announcement dropped on his LinkedIn, where Snoop explained that this new volunteer role is “all about celebrating and supporting athletes beyond what fans see on the field of play. I’m here to bring my voice, my heart, and maybe a little wisdom from the sidelines… to help motivate Team USA, shine a light on the full athlete journey, and uplift the people who make their dreams possible.”

His mission kicks off with a major spotlight on the Team USA Fund, which he described as providing “real resources for athlete training, education, mental health, career transition, and everything athletes need to thrive on and off the field of play.” The initiative fuels the parts of an athlete’s grind most people never witness, and Snoop is stepping in to make sure the nation understands what it really takes for competitors to reach the Olympic stage.
This isn’t his first Olympic moment either. Snoop previously served as a special correspondent for NBC and even carried the torch during the 2024 Summer Games, winning fans over with his mix of humor, insight, and genuine admiration for athletes. Now, he’s set to return for NBC’s coverage of the 2026 Olympic Winter Games in Milano Cortina, bringing his signature voice to another global stage.
