Kim Kardashian has unveiled her new skincare line, Skkn by Kim, though many people are slamming her for ripping off Lori Harvey’s brand, which launched last year.
The reality star’s line will officially be available for purchase on June 21st. On Wednesday, she released the first images of the nine product line featuring neutral-colored cylinder-shaped bottles. In the caption, the beauty mogul claimed that she developed the brand “from start to finish,” backed by dermatologists and estheticians. However, fans couldn’t help but be distracted by the fact that her product name and even the shape of the bottles were nearly identical to Harvey’s SKN by LH line.
Harvey’s packaging is a light blue hue, and instead of the nine-step routine, SKN by LH has a five-step system.
This is not the first time that Kim K has been called out for allegedly stealing the ideas and concepts of Black women and marketing them as her own. Beauty company Skkn+ is also entering the conversation after opening its story in May. The owner, Cyndie Lunsford, sent Kardashian a cease & desist letter, as she owns the trademark.

While Kardashian nor Harvey has not responded to the similarities, Twitter certainly did, and they had a lot to say. One user wrote, “One thing the Kardashians gon do is take from black women,” while another expressed concern that both Harvey and Kardashian stole the name and concept from Lunsford, to begin with.
