There is a possibility that Soulja Boy may have managed to evade paying his former girlfriend over $235,000.

In a post-trial hearing, Santa Monica Superior Court Judge Mark H. Epstein allegedly stated that no evidence was presented by Soulja’s ex-girlfriend, Kayla Myers, regarding his income.

“The court is concerned that, absent at least some evidence on this point, the issue should never have gone to the jury,” the judge’s clerk wrote in a minute order, according to iHeart’s My 104.3fm.

In 2020, Soulja faced a lawsuit from Myers, who accused him of assault, battery, and false imprisonment. The incident supposedly occurred at his Malibu residence and lasted approximately six hours.

In April, Meyers appeared in court for the civil trial and presented evidence to the jury, which included photographs depicting her claimed injuries, such as three broken ribs. Additionally, she showed texts and direct messages that she alleged were sent to her by Soulja.

Soulja was not charged with a criminal offense for the assault. However, law enforcement officers later uncovered weapons at his residence, which violated the terms of his probation. Despite this, he denied involvement in the incident and claimed a third party was responsible for Meyers’ injuries.

That same month, a jury ruled in Myers’s favor, and the “Crank That” rapper was ordered to pay her $235,000.  According to court records, the jury granted Meyers $1,800 for “mental health expenses” and an additional $234,100 for “physical and mental pain and suffering.”

Last month, Soulja’s attorneys requested a motion for a new trial, stating there were “irregularities in the proceedings of the court…” Nevertheless, a  hearing regarding this matter is set for July 21, and there is a possibility that Soulja Boy might not be required to pay punitive damages if the judge rules in his favor.
