According to Vibe, St. Louis music producer and life insurance agent Waiel Yaghnam has been charged in connection with the federal murder for hire case against Welcome to Sweetie Pie’s star Tim Norman.
Waiel, a co producer on Nelly’s 2002 album Nellyville, was arrested on charges of conspiracy to commit mail fraud and wire fraud. Prosecutors say the charges are tied to the 2016 killing of Andre Montgomery, who was Tim’s 18 year old nephew.
Prosecutors allege that Waiel helped Tim submit false statements to obtain about $450,000 in life insurance policies on Andre, and that Tim was the sole beneficiary. The coverage was reportedly a $200,000 policy plus a $250,000 accidental death benefit rider. Prosecutors say the paperwork began in 2014.
Waiel is the third defendant in the case. Tim and Terica Ellis, 36, were previously charged with conspiracy to commit murder for hire resulting in death. Tim was also indicted on conspiracy to commit wire and mail fraud. Prosecutors allege that Tim paid to have Andre killed and that he contacted Waiel four days after the killing to help with the insurance policies.
The charges are allegations, and the defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
