According to Vibe, St. Louis music producer, life insurance agent, and vintage t-shirt seller Waiel Yaghnam has reportedly been charged in connection to a murder for hire plot along with Welcome to Sweetie Pie’s star, Tim Norman.
Yaghnam, the co-producer of Nelly’s 2002 sophomore LP, Nellyville, was reportedly arrested for conspiracy to commit mail fraud and wire fraud in connection to the plot that killed Andre Montgomery, Norman’s 18-year-old nephew.
Yaghnam is accused of “helping Norman falsify statements to secure $450,000 in life insurance policies that he took out on Montgomery,” according to prosecutors. Norman was reported to be the sole beneficiary of the insurance policies.
Yaghnam was arrested last week, making him the third defendant added to the case after Norman and his alleged associate, Terica Ellis, 36. Norman and Ellis were charged with “conspiracy to commit murder for hire resulting in death.” Norman was also indicted last week on conspiracy to commit wire and mail fraud.
According to law enforcement, Norman paid to have Montgomery murdered back in 2016, to cash out on nearly $500,000. Four days after Montgomery was murdered, Norman allegedly contacted Yaghnam to assist him with the life insurance policies, prosecutors say.
The policy was reportedly for the amounts of $200,000 plus a $250,000 accidental death benefit rider in the event that Montgomery died from natural causes within 10 years of the policy’s insurance. Norman and Yaghnam are accused of submitting the information for the policies beginning in 2014.
