Cardi B’s best friend, Star Brim, was recently sentenced to one year and one day in prison, as well as a three-year supervised release.

According to reports, Star Brim, also known as Yonette Respass, faced RICO Act charges along with 17 other gang members.  She admitted guilt for her role in the criminal activities linked to the 5–9 Brims.
Prosecutors accused Brim of being the “godmother” of the gang and orchestrating crimes such as fraud and assault, with law enforcement actively targeting the gang to reduce gang-related crime in New York.

Judge George B. Daniels’ sentencing aims to prevent Star Brim from reverting to her gang-related past by imposing strict conditions upon her release, including avoiding any association with the Bloods or their factions, both online and in specific areas known for gang activity.

Upon her release, she must participate in an outpatient mental health program and undergo periodic drug testing.  Additionally, Brim must promptly pay a $100 special assessment fee.

According to reports, Brim will serve her sentence at the Federal Correctional Institution in Danbury, Connecticut, with her surrender arranged by the Bureau of Prisons before 2 p.m. on July 1, 2024.
