Stefon Diggs is back in court headlines, and this time the spotlight is on his books, not the football field. The wide receiver’s ongoing legal battle took another turn after the man accusing him of sexual assault asked a judge to force Diggs to hand over financial records tied to his defamation claims.
According to reports, influencer Christopher Blake Griffith and his attorneys filed a motion demanding evidence that Diggs actually suffered monetary harm after Griffith publicly accused him. Since Diggs sued for defamation in November 2025, Griffith’s team argues he now has to show proof that the allegations caused real financial damage.
One attorney reportedly said Diggs “does not get to sue and hide,” while also accusing the athlete of resisting discovery and blocking efforts to test the claims made in his lawsuit. In short, if damages are being claimed, they want the numbers.
Diggs previously denied Griffith’s allegations and alleged the story was fabricated. Griffith has publicly claimed Diggs drugged and sexually assaulted him after a night out, then later threatened his life. “He attempted to have me unalived because of him making a sexual pass at me,” Griffith said during a podcast interview.
The courtroom pressure arrives while Diggs is already facing separate legal problems. Earlier this year, he pleaded not guilty in Massachusetts to felony strangulation or suffocation and misdemeanor assault and battery charges tied to allegations from a former live-in chef. His attorney said he expects Diggs to be “completely exonerated.”
Between civil lawsuits, criminal charges, and public fallout, Diggs keeps finding himself in headlines for everything except football. Now the next question may be whether the court orders him to open the ledger.
