The family of the late Stephen “tWitch” Boss says they were caught off guard by the intimate details revealed in Allison Holker’s newly released memoir, This Far: My Story of Love, Loss, and Embracing the Light.

In their first interview since Boss’ 2022 death, his mother, Connie Boss Alexander, and brother, Dre Rose, told CBS Mornings’ Gayle King that their relationship with Holker has become strained, especially as her book and its revelations have been widely promoted.
“I think people deserve the ability to share their story. I get that,” Dre Rose said. “But … we shouldn’t have to find out about that in the media. We’re a family.”
Holker’s memoir, which was featured in People magazine’s January cover story, includes entries from Boss’ private journals and details of their final days together. His family members say they now want to read the journals in full to better understand what he was going through.
“I think those journals will tell you a lot,” Dre Rose said, adding that he believes there has been “cherry-picking” of certain journal entries in Holker’s book. “If we’re just gonna be completely honest, talk about it all.”
Holker previously addressed concerns about her book, stating that her only intention was to share her personal journey and part of her life with Boss to help others.
