Two women publicly accused actor Steven Seagal of sexual assault at a press conference on Monday, March 19, 2018. Seagal has denied the allegations.
Regina says she was an 18 year old extra on the set of the 1994 film Deadly Ground when Seagal invited her to his home in 1993 for what she was told was a wrap party. She says no one else was there and that he led her to a bedroom. Her attorney, Lisa Bloom, shared her account, and Regina described freezing and feeling that “there was nothing consensual about this.”
Faviola says she was 17 when she went to what she believed was a private audition for one of Seagal’s films. She says he assaulted her and that she left before things went further. Speaking at the news conference, she said she is not seeking money or fame and that the goal is accountability.
Seagal has denied the claims and has said the women are lying. According to Bloom, two other women have also come forward with allegations. Seagal has not been charged with a crime in connection with these claims.
The press conference came during the #MeToo movement, as more women have been speaking publicly about alleged misconduct in the entertainment industry. These are allegations, and Seagal is entitled to respond to them.
