The year 2024 is already full of surprises, and Stunna Girl having beef with Ciara was certainly not on our bingo card.
The issue kicked off when Stunna released her record, “Stand Up,” featuring YG last week. The single samples Ciara’s hit song, “Goodies.” While this is a common occurrence in the music industry, apparently, Stunna didn’t get the proper clearance from Cici’s team, who had the song removed from all platforms for copyright infringement. This didn’t sit well with Stunna, who let off several shots on Twitter, even accusing Ciara of being a hater.
“I literally hate when producers use samples. These artists be actin like they made the beat it’s so many people that used that beat but @ciara team writing me saying she personally contacted them about me,” Stunna explained in a now-deleted tweet.
She would then go on to point out that she never has any issues when she samples music by white artists before slamming Ciara’s fans, who jumped to her defense.
“I don’t care about what some random people on the net gotta say cuz y’all was the same people saying this lady was a man for years shoulda came to her defense then when she needed y’all the most,” the “Baddies” castmember wrote in another tweet.
Ciara has not responded to the Twitter lashing, though the record is no longer available on YouTube. Therefore, despite Stunna’s feelings, Cici still got her wish.
