During her recent chat with Big Boy to discuss her forthcoming album, “Finally Over It,” Walker shared that her record label had to force her to leave her many jobs when she first entered the music business. According to the “Heart of a Woman” star, while she wanted to be a professional singer, she wasn’t quick to walk away from her income until she was sure about making money in entertainment.

“I had a lot of jobs. And it’s so funny because my label actually had to pay me money to quit my job because I had got signed and I was still working my job. And they’re like, ‘Can you cut it out?'” she explained.

The vocalist revealed that before her signing her deal, she had started her own cleaning company and was also working as a dancer and fast-food employee.

“I worked at Five Guys, Wendy’s, everything you can think. Like, I’m not gon’ go without no money,” Walker expounded.

In late 2017, Walker inked a contract with Love Renaissance, an imprint of Interscope Records. In October 2018, she released her debut commercial mixtape, “Last Day of Summer,” with the hit lead single “Girls Need Love.” From there, Walker became a household name, securing a Drake remix of the record.
