Support Businesses For Us By Us

Luxury brands have been showing the utmost disrespect to the black community. But, are you really surprised?

In 2019, you would think people would change how they perceive the black community, but time and time again they show us that they don’t care about us, just the money we spend.

We have seen Gucci with a black face sweater, H&M styling a ”monkeying around” shirt on a black kid, Prada with the black face keychains, and Moncler with a black face collection. These brands pretty much have that “I’ll do what I want and I’ll apologize for it later” attitude.

Well, when is enough, enough? Are you going to boycott today and go back to supporting the brands that aren’t for us?

Let’s go back to the times where we supported our own. Think about it, in the ’90s and early ’00s, many of us were rocking Phat Farm, Karl Kani, Rocawear, Sean John, FUBU, and Apple Bottoms just to name a few.

If these same brands were to recreate their brand to match the trends now, they would be just as successful. But in order for our culture to be successful, we must support our own.

The same energy and money that’s put into the luxury brands that don’t give a damn about you put into brands that are for us by us.

What are your thoughts?
