TMZ reports it has confirmed the two artists are not dating, despite months of online speculation that suggested otherwise. People with direct knowledge tell the outlet the pair have never been romantically involved, adding that claims of a past or current relationship are “flat-out false.” According to those sources, SZA and Shaboozey are friendly but have always kept things strictly platonic, with no dating history at any point.
The rumors first picked up steam in 2025. In May, fans began reading into what they believed was a possible interaction at the American Music Awards. The chatter resurfaced in September after Shaboozey posted and later deleted an Instagram photo dump that included a video clip of SZA. Days later, speculation grew louder when a post titled “Goodbye Horses” showed a woman from behind that fans assumed was SZA.
More fuel was added in November 2025 when both artists attended the GQ Men of the Year event around the same time. Even then, sources say there was no romantic connection, and that remains the case now.
