Love & Hip Hop New York star Tahiry has spoken out after reports that she was attacked backstage at New York Fashion Week. Bossip reported on September 10, 2014 that she was allegedly assaulted by a production manager named Carlos while she was preparing to walk the red carpet at the Helen Mills event space ahead of designer Toure’s show. According to that report, the show was later rescheduled, and Tahiry was taken to Lenox Hill Hospital and released the same day.
The first details came from unnamed sources, so Tahiry’s own words carry the most weight. She shared a statement with fans on Instagram thanking them for their support and calling the incident an attack. She said she was home, healing and surrounded by love, and wrote that she was attacked “in the workplace, by a man.” She also said violence against women must stop and that she plans to keep pursuing her work with the same determination.
