Grand Jury Indicts Patrick Clark in Takeoff's Shooting Death

Patrick Clark

The man allegedly responsible for the death of rapper Takeoff is begging a judge for money to hire a private investigator to build his defense.

According to court documents obtained by TMZ, Patrick Xavier Clark is seeking $5,000 as an initial payment to hire a personal investigator since he can’t afford one on his own.

Clark says that he must hire a P.I. for his defense to “properly investigate [Clark’s] case and to prepare effectively for trial” since his family has already spent all their money on a lawyer who is already working at a reduced rate.
He claims to have already found a private investigator who will take the case for the discounted $85/hour fee.
Last week, Clark was arrested and charged with murdering the rapper.  His bond is set at $2 million.
Upon release, Clark will be placed under house arrest and prohibited from possessing firearms or deadly weapons, as well as refrain from consuming marijuana or any controlled substance without a prescription.
In addition, Clark will have to refrain from speaking to Takeoff’s family, J. Prince Jr., and boxing star Shakur Stevenson.
