Rapper Tay-K could be tried as an adult in his capital murder case.

It’s only been a few weeks since Tay-K, whose legal name is #TaymorMcIntyre, was sentenced for his role in a 2016 fatal shooting. Now, the 19-year-old is being transferred to Bexar County, Texas, to face his capital murder charge in an unrelated case.

According to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, Texas prosecutors want Tay-K to be tried as an adult in connection to the murder of Mark Saldivar. The rapper is accused of fatally shooting the 23-year-old photographer outside a San Antonio Chick-fil-A in 2017, while he was on the lam.

Nicole Perez, a spokeswoman for the Bexar County D.A.’s office, explained that prosecutors in the Saldivar murder case will seek to have Tay stand trial. The teen was 16 at the time of the shooting. Perez says the certification has yet to be scheduled.

Last month, Tay was sentenced to 55 years for his alleged involvement in the murder of 21-year-old Ethan Walker during a home-invasion robbery. The rapper was tried as an adult in the case and was sentenced to 30 years in prison on one count of aggravated robbery and 13 years each for the two remaining counts of aggravated robbery. The sentences will run concurrently, and he will not be eligible for parole until he serves at least half of his sentence. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Tay-K’s legal team has appealed the ruling. In June 2018, Saldivar’s family filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the rapper, seeking more than $1 million in damages.
