Taylor Swift is taking matters into her own hands. The singer has revealed that she will be re-recording her old songs, to offset Scooter Braun’s purchase of her former label, ‘Big Machine,’ which she left in 2018.

Swift made the announcement in an interview for an upcoming ‘CBS Sunday Morning’ episode. Host Tracy Smith asked if she has a “plan” to create new masters of her classic songs to regain control of the music on her past albums — to which the singer replied: “Yeah, absolutely.”

Swift’s recordings became a topic of discussion earlier this summer, when megaproducer Scooter Braun acquired Scott Borchetta’s ‘Big Machine Label Group,’ in a deal reportedly worth more than $300 million.

In a previous Tumblr post, Swift called the deal her “worst-case scenario,” accusing Braun of bullying her in the past through clients like Kanye West and Justin Bieber.

The “Lover” singer has recorded six albums with ‘Big Machine,’ which Braun now owns after his deal.

However, Braun has yet to comment publicly on the situation.

The full ‘CBS Sunday Morning’ interview will air Aug. 25 on CBS.
