A former teacher will face sentencing on Friday after pleading guilty to a slew of child sex crimes, including giving her students cupcakes laced with her husband’s semen.
The shocking crimes were unveiled in 2019 when a tipster alerted the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children about Cynthia Perkins and her husband, Dennis Perkins, a deputy sheriff officer. Authorities launched an investigation and uncovered that the couple raped a child who was between ages nine and ten. Investigators also located nude photos of the two with the child, though it is unclear how they knew the minor. A plethora of child pornography was discovered, including photographs of Cynthia giving cupcakes that contained Dennis’s semen to her unsuspecting students.
The demented couple was hit with over 150 charges. However, under Cynthia’s plea deal, 68 of her charges were dropped in exchange for her testifying against Dennis. She has also waived her right to appeal, preventing the victims from having to testify. The 36-year-old is set to receive 41 years behind bars for second-degree rape, producing child porn, and conspiracy mingling of harmful substances. She filed for divorce from her husband and maintains that he manipulated her into raping a child and feeding others semen.
Dennis will stand on trial in May on 150 child sex crimes.
