Teairra Mari Says She Never Had An Issue With Jay-Z Or Beyoncé, But Draws The Line At 50 Cent

Teairra Mari isn’t interested in revisiting old narratives.

During a recent Instagram Live session, the former Roc-A-Fella Records singer addressed several topics that have followed her throughout her career, including persistent rumors involving Jay-Z and Beyoncé, questions about reality television, and the long-running legal saga tied to 50 Cent.

The livestream started with viewers bringing up the G-Unit mogul, which was the one topic Mari made clear she had no interest in discussing.

When a commenter wrote “pay 50 Cent,” Mari responded immediately.

“Somebody said pay 50 Cent his money, but let me just tell y’all this. If you say that ever again, you could shut the f**k up, put a d**k in your mouth and because I’m not gonna answer you. Okay. So just don’t even do that. Okay. Let’s talk about the next thing.”

The blunt response reignited discussion about the years-long legal dispute between the two entertainers.

The conflict dates back to 2018 when Mari sued 50 Cent and her former boyfriend Akbar Abdul-Ahad over explicit images that were posted online without her consent. Mari accused Abdul-Ahad of accessing her Instagram account and sharing the images and alleged that 50 Cent later reposted them.

A judge ultimately ruled in 50 Cent’s favor regarding the claims against him and ordered Mari to pay $30,000 in legal fees. The balance later increased through sanctions and accrued interest, eventually surpassing $50,000.

After moving past the 50 Cent discussion, the conversation shifted toward another topic that has followed Mari for nearly two decades.

As one of the most visible young artists signed during Jay-Z’s tenure at Def Jam, Mari has frequently found herself at the center of speculation about her relationship with the music mogul.

At just 16 years old, she signed with Def Jam Recordings and Roc-A-Fella Records and became known as “The Princess of the Roc.” Her debut album, “Roc-A-Fella Records Presents Teairra Mari,” landed at No. 5 on the Billboard 200 in 2005 before her departure from the label sparked years of questions from fans.

When asked directly whether she ever had an issue with Jay-Z, Mari gave a definitive answer.

I actually never did,” she stated.

The response left little room for interpretation and directly contradicted years of fan speculation suggesting otherwise.

Questions about Beyoncé soon followed, and Mari was equally direct, firmly stating no. She even reminded the audience that she attended Bey’s Renaissance Tour.

The fan participating in the livestream pointed out what many supporters have argued for years.

“Y’all be putting her in beefs that don’t even exist,” to which Mari replied, “Right, never have existed.”

For years, social media users have attached her name to narratives involving both Jay-Z and Beyoncé. During this livestream, she dismissed both rumors in a matter of minutes.

Beyond the viral moments, Mari also spoke candidly about her time on reality television and the impact it had on her personal life.

When asked whether her years on television affected her mental health, she acknowledged the challenges while reflecting on the opportunities that came with the experience.

“It was taxing. But at the end of the day, when you get an opportunity, you’re supposed to treat it not like you would treat just something that was taxing on your mental health. So yeah, it was taxing a little bit, but at the same time, I had to figure it out and do what I needed to do to make it work, not for my mental health, but my mental sanctity, for my mental life.”
