Teairra Mari is moving forward with a lawsuit against her ex and rapper 50 Cent, claiming they were involved in a revenge porn plot meant to embarrass her.
In the suit and at a recent press conference, Mari alleged that her ex, Akbar, got into her Instagram account and posted intimate videos of the two of them. She also claimed that Akbar wanted to build a reality show around his lifestyle and relationships.
“I was compromised by someone who I felt loved me as much as I loved him,” Mari said. “I’m conflicted, I’m hurt, confused and heartbroken.”
Mari also named 50 Cent in the lawsuit. She alleges that he reposted one of the videos after she removed it from her own page. She further claims that a caption he added could have encouraged his fans to go after her.
Her filing points to an earlier case in which a woman named Lastonia sued 50 Cent over a video he shared online. Mari says that history shows a pattern of him shaming women.
These are Mari’s allegations, and none of them have been decided by a court. 50 Cent has pushed back publicly on social media.
