Tekashi 6ix9ine isn’t letting LA Fitness off the hook after a violent 2023 gym attack left him hospitalized. The controversial rapper, whose real name is Daniel Hernandez, has filed a lawsuit in Palm Beach County, Florida, seeking over $1 million in damages. He claims the gym failed to provide adequate security, making it possible for three men to brutally assault him at one of their South Florida locations.

The legal documents, obtained by TMZ, reveal that Tekashi is accusing LA Fitness of negligence, alleging that its staff was not properly trained in security protocols. According to the suit, employees didn’t respond appropriately to the attack, failing to quickly notify law enforcement or take measures to protect him once the situation escalated.

The 27-year-old rapper was ambushed in March 2023 while working out in the gym’s sauna. The attackers, who were later identified as alleged Latin Kings gang members, were caught on camera punching, kicking, and stomping on Tekashi, leaving him bloodied and badly injured.

Tekashi is arguing that LA Fitness’ failure to ensure a safe environment led to severe consequences. In the lawsuit, he alleges that he suffered injuries to his jaw, ribs, and back, along with ongoing physical and emotional pain. He’s citing a long list of damages, including:

  • Bodily injury and disability
  • Pain and suffering
  • Humiliation
  • Loss of income
  • Medical expenses
  • A diminished quality of life

The rapper is holding LA Fitness accountable, claiming that their negligence directly resulted in the attack and its aftermath.

Shortly after the incident, three men were arrested in connection with the assault. Footage from the attack went viral on social media, showing Tekashi being repeatedly beaten while on the ground. The arrests brought some level of closure to the violent encounter, but Tekashi believes LA Fitness should pay for its role in failing to prevent the attack.

Stay tuned as this legal battle unfolds.
