A Tennessee man is facing several different charges after reportedly kidnapping and sexually assaulting a woman who mistook his truck for a ride-share.

Randall C. Johnson, 49, faces charges of aggravated kidnapping, aggravated rape, and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Johnson picked up the 24-year-old woman and her male friend after leaving a downtown Nashville bar around 2:45 a.m. back in May.

“The male exited the truck and was attempting to assist the victim from the vehicle when Johnson sped off with the woman still in the pickup,” the Metro Nashville Police Department said in a press release.

Johnson drove the victim to a field about 30 minutes away and sexually assaulted her. He brought her back to Nashville after the assault and dropped her off.

A citizen’s tip led to the identification and arrest of the suspect.
