Terrell Owens

Retired NFL baller Terrell Owens is confident that he can still outperform many former players his age if given the opportunity.

The 47-year-old sat down with NFL Network, where he shared that he has “no doubt” he can still play in the league.

“I can still play. Who’s to say what I can and can’t do. You can’t speak for me on how my body feels.”

Owens began his professional career after being selected by the San Francisco 49ers in the third round of the 1996 NFL Draft. He played with them for eight seasons before moving on to the Philadelphia Eagles, Dallas Cowboys, Buffalo Bills, and the Cincinnati Bengals in 2010, which was his last played game. In 2012, he briefly signed with the Seattle Seahawk but was released before ever playing with the team. Though the football Hall of Famer never got the chance to compete in a Super Bowl, the opportunity may still be available to him.

Owens says that an NFL team reached out to him recently, telling him to stay physically prepared for a possible return to the field.

“With that conversation that I had, they asked me to keep myself in shape. Anything can happen,” he said before reiterating that he was, under no circumstances, “washed up.”

“Once you know how to ride a bike, you know, you don’t forget how to ride that bike.”
