Terrence Howard’s ex-wife Michelle was granted a temporary restraining order against the actor on August 6, 2013, after telling a Los Angeles court about a fight during a family vacation in Costa Rica, TMZ reported.
According to TMZ, Michelle appeared in court with a black eye and said it happened during an argument with Terrence the week before. Terrence tells a different story. He says Michelle maced him, his adult daughter and another family member, and that he never touched her. It is unknown how the injury happened, and the black eye was reportedly not discussed in court.
The judge ordered Terrence to stay at least 100 yards away from Michelle and to have no contact with her while the order is in place, pending another hearing later this month. Terrence also asked for a restraining order against Michelle. That request was not granted, and the judge said his side would be heard at the next hearing.
The two reportedly married in 2010, filed for divorce in 2011, and finalized the divorce in May 2013. A temporary order is not a finding of wrongdoing, and both sides will get to be heard.
