A 12-year-old in Texas boy who was overwhelmingly “sad and lonely” during the Covid-19 lockdown hanged himself last year, his father said.

According to the NY Post, Hayden Hunstable was so depressed that he took his own life three days before his 13th birthday last April because the youngster didn’t know how to cope with the isolation and depression that overwhelmed him during the nationwide lockdown.

According to a report in the Metro UK, Hayden’s 9-year-old sister, Kinlee, found him in his bedroom.

Hayden’s father Brad, called the pandemic a “perfect storm for suicide and depression,” and wants to bring awareness in the hopes of preventing other young people from succumbing to the pressures.

“COVID killed my son. I think Hayden would still be alive today if COVID had never happened,” his heartbroken dad said. “I had no idea he was struggling or depressed — he was such a happy kid and loved his friends and family,” he said.
